What is a digital stamp?

A digital stamp also called a digi stamp is similar to a rubber or clear stamp. Artists design them in the same way. Rather than using ink and stamping a physical stamp image onto a piece of paper the digital stamp image is download to your computer and printed onto paper using a printer. I like that the images are printed clean and crisp with no faded lines, missing edges, ink mess or smudges. These benefits of a digital stamp are what got me hooked. Digital stamps are mainly designed for card makers, paper crafters and DIY projects.

After purchasing your digital stamps, they are emailed to you. The JPEG and PNG files will come in a zip file. They are saved at 300 DPI (dots per inch) creating a clean, crisp image when printed. The PNG (portable network graphic) files can be manipulated and used as clip art.

How to work with Cute Digital Stamps?

After finding and extracting your images from the zip file, simply print the JPEG images, color and cut. Cute Digital Stamps has already formatted the images to print at exactly the right size to fit on a handmade card. You can "fussy" cut your image or use the gray offset line. The gray line is there for "cloud" cutting your image.

Which paper should I use for digital stamps?

Print your digital stamps on card stock paper, vellum, watercolor paper or any paper that is around 90lbs. I have been able to print images on my 130lbs watercolor paper but sometimes the paper will jam. A less heavy paper will do good. The ink in your computer should be waterproof. The heat from your printer should fuse the ink to the paper. Depending on your printer you may or may not have success with  using water mediums with your printed images. So far I've had complete success and my printer is a piece of junk.

Coloring digital stamps!

Coloring your digital stamps is easy and the same as traditionally stamped images. In some cases the ink will be better suited for watercolor and Copic markers as the ink from the printer is heat fused to the paper making it water resistant.
